Default 2010 F150 - problems

I have a 2010 F150, V8 5.4, Lariat.

It has 119K miles on it (second owner, first owner was a salesman who drove A LOT haha)

the other day, I was driving and it felt like multiple time while pushing the gas pedal down it would stutter and stop giving the engine gas. I get to work, park the truck for about 8.5 hours, go outside and have a heck of a time trying to start it. The vehicle would turn over then sound like it was going to stall out and a few times did stall out. if it would completely turn over it would sound like it was stuttering for a few seconds prior to finally turning over. When it turned over i pressed in the gas pedal with no response, i did think a few times until i finally received a response from it and the engine rev up....

My buddy who is a mechanic hooked the vehicle up and by the means of error codes and research, believed it was the throttle body. The throttle body was replaced and all electronics were updated or whatever...

when trying to start the car, get the same thing, it takes a few seconds for the vehicle to actually turn over and start the engine, at times i will smell raw gas as well. it seems to start up after one time (in the morning cold live in PA) but take a while and sounds like it is going to stall out before finally starting up.

last night, i drove the truck around, parked it for about 4 hours, went out and it gave me very little problem before starting up, i drove around approximately 20 mins, pulled in my driveway, put into park and the engine sounded like i was pressing the gas pedal gradually (which i wasnt). the rpms would slowly go up from 500 to 1500/2000 and then go back down, and it continued to do this for about a minute before i shut the truck off.

i think i covered the base of the issue, but cant figure out what we need to be looking at.... any help would be appreciated .... i do not believe any other errors were given when hooked up to the computer.

Default Intake or Ignition

The engine is adjusting rpms to compensate for a perceived input which could be excess air after the MAF. Replacing the throttle body seems odd unless the drive by wire unit is integral to the throttle body. It could be ignition related. I would have your mechanic trouble shoot the ignition system. If the engine is stuttering and you are smelling gas you may not have a solid spark. Keep us posted

***EDIT***
O2 sensors, what does the exhaust look like under the truck. You live in PA and it sounds like there are a lot of road miles on the truck. Check for rust. YOu may have fouled down stream O2 sensors that need to be replaced.
