Default 2010 F150 overdrive problem (NOT servo ring)

So I recently acquired a 2010 F150 XL with the smallest v8 engine available in the model. Other than needing some new bearings and an exhaust the vehicle is immaculate and has had fleet maintenance on it (was a work vehicle) since 2010. I haven't had any problems with it EXCEPT...

about two two weeks ago on the way to work 4th gear went out. At about 35mph the truck tries to shift into 4th but instead shifts into neutral and the truck just revs. I've tried shifting up at lower and higher speeds and it absolutely refuses to shift into OD. Here are the steps I've taken to repair it so far...

went to the auto parts store and pulled the codes. The only 2 codes on the engine were for the catalytic converter, which I knew was bad but should not effect overdrive.
Had the car run a self diagnostic and it says I need new tire pressure sensors, and I don't really believe in tire pressure sensors so I ignore it.
Searched the forums and found the infamous OD servo ring error (which won't kick an error code on the engine) with F150s. I went to the dealership, bought a new servo ring, took the transmission pan down, replaced the servo clip. The old one looked fine but I put a new one in anyway. Reassembled transmission pan and replaced all 10q of transmission fluid. No change. All gears work great EXCEPT 4th STILL.

Have done more research and started checking fuses. Have checked every fuse I can think of related to the transmission. My thought is that if it's a solenoid or wire harness has worn or shorted I should have SOME sort of error or alert on the cars sensors (I've read a lot about flashing OD lights and the car going into "limp" mode but that simply isn't the case here. No errors and as long as I disable overdrive I can take it on the highway no problem.) Shifts smooth. Transmission seems to be in good shape. I'm scratching my head thinking at the point it has to be a solenoid but also know that each solenoid kicks at least 2 error codes when it fails. If anyone has any ideas about where to go next that isn't taking it to a transmission specialist I'm all ears...

What is the mileage on the truck because I have the same truck v8 4.6L?

Do you have any issues when it comes to starting? If so check your neutral safety switch. My bosses 2002 Dodge Ram had the same issue but he had nothing show up.

No problems starting in neutral or park. Starts like a champ. I've had NNS problems on Jeeps but I haven't had any trouble with the safety switch.

I brought it to a transmission shop for a free diagnostic and they said the 4r75w transmission are prone to having the 4th gear clutch spin too loose to grab the gear and it happens all the time. I'm a LITTLE skeptical because transmission shops always recommend a full rebuild and that's exactly what they said I needed but I'm out of ideas and have only gotten one reply...

I have the same exact problem (not the servo c clip or snap ring), did you ever figure out the issue on your truck?

The 4r70w are notorious for breaking and burning up the OD band causing a no 4th gear condition, or when the servo clip broke, the OD band did not get put back into place on the drum and causing the band to not engage 4th gear. Either one the transmission will need to come out and be rebuilt, because most of the time, it starts to burn other components in the trans. Also, what was the condition of the fluid?
