2008 4.6L triton blown spark plug

Angry 2008 4.6L triton blown spark plug

My 2008 still had the factory plugs installed and this past sunday 2nd cylinder from the front on the passenger side blew out the plug. I just don't understand why this is something that an owner must bear the cost of fixing. I'm not an engineer by any stretch, but this seems like a faulty design or a quality control issue in manufacturing. Is anyone aware of any recalls, or at least reimbursement from Ford motor for this issue?

Sorry about that! The 4.6's are kinda known for blowing plugs like the 5.4's are known for breaking off during a tuneup. Not any help tho for you. Both have been an issue for years. Sucks, man!!

No you wont get a reimbursement from ford, take it to a shop and throw a hellicoil in it a call it a day, just hope the shop doesnt screw up and it need a new head.

How many miles are on the truck? I thought Ford fixed that problem already...
