It will crank but will not start i can hear the pump running i also. When. I turn the key to the run (3) postion it will try to start any ideas

 

years ago I had a little Toyota truck that did something similar and it ended up being a short in the ignition wires. actually 2 wires had melted together. it was kind of funny because when you would step on the brake the engine would start.
