Default 2006 Radio Problems

Recently bought a commuter truck. Radio doesn't work in it though. I can only get two things to work: I can get "no CD" when I press the CD or eject button, and I can change the time on the clock. No radio. So I took the radio out and there was a CD jammed in it. With some tinkering I got the CD out, but still no radio and I can't get a CD back in.

So, I buy a replacement radio online. I install it (it spits out a CD the second I plug in the wiring harness), and get the EXACT SAME THING - "no CD" and I can change the time. What's wrong with the truck? Or did I end up with two lemon radios that have the exact same problem?

Thanks

Really? I bought another one and it gave me the same problem.

I'll try a 3rd one if needed - just curious if anyone else has had a similar problem.

I've seen that error many times working at the dealer, it's a bad head unit. We would send them out for repair. When I said try a new one I meant exactly that NEW, not another used unit.

If you have a pull-a-part local you can get a warranty for a couple bux and they will supply you with radios until you get one that works. Personally I'd just get an aftermarket unit, much better quality with a warranty.

It's the radio. Very common in Fords vehicles. Especially the ones with the 6 cd changer. Had the issue in my 02 Explorer, and my F150. I just replaced the head unit with an aftermarket one.
