If you have a minute and 40 second drive to work, you could probably walk it in 3 to 5 minutes. Why in hell are you stressing a vehicle like that. The engine and tranny do not warm to operating temperature. If there is anything wrong with your engine I would guess it is terminally sludged.

Which I warm it up for 20 minutes in the morning (I’m in Minnesota) and drive about 10minutes to work.. so I’m guessing it’ll run fine only going that far.

Okay...so...its a ton of money to fix and you assume its timing.

I dont know really what to make of this but its starting to look a lot like Covfefe!
If any shop tells you the engine is shot surely they will tell you why...assuming why is certainly not in my wheelhouse!

A "ton of money" "like 2-3 thousand"to fix a "shot engine"... You're never going to get a "shot engine" which in my mind means its no longer fixable - fixed for 2 grand!

I just bought a new fish finder for my fishing boat...for $2,000!

I live in Minnesota it’s been up to 30 below or worse... I’m not walking.. I’ve not had the truck long enough to put any “stress” on it... the truck sits running for atleast 20 minutes every morning before I leave.

If a mechanic tells me my engine is done for, he's going to tell me why.
they told me that the engine when warmed up drops oil pressure shakes and stalls because of damage inside the engine. He said bearings and such are not replaceable. Between the codes he gave me and the drop in pressure he assured me the engine would need to be fully replaced.

Now this is what he is telling me.. I’m getting a second opinion tomorrow morning. But like I said if they could take my money and FIX it I don’t think they’d send me out the door telling me I need 8K for a new engine..

Jesus Christ so everyone in this state that doesn’t have a heated garage warms their vehicle up in the morning. Are we really saying the reason my truck went to **** is because I let it idle every morning?
