06 F150 AC Issues
When I am moving the AC blows nice cold air out, but when I idle for a while especially from a "cold" start it blows hot muggy air out. When I start moving again the air gets cold. I did replace the fan clutch with no difference. My truck is a 2006 5.4 XLT. Anyone have any ideas or experiences with this?

Is it correctly charged: Evacuated and correct amount weighed in? Does an 06 have a FOV, was it changed out or cleaned?

When it was last checked it was. I need to take it to a mechanic to get that checked. I was just wondering if anyone else had a similar issue and if it could be a DIY repair.
Thanks

Check your fan clutch again. My '06 has never cooled well either but this was an issue on mine. If the condenser coils don't get enough air they'll overheat, pressure will go up and the high pressure safety switch trips and cuts out the compressor. When this happens the system is just doing what it's supposed to do in order to keep from messing things up. The fan clutch is very often overlooked when troubleshooting A/C. I had to go to a factory Ford clutch as the ones at the parts houses are a 1 year deal at best, no matter how many lifetimes of warranty they have. The Fo-Mo-Co clutch is much heavier duty than the aftermarket clutches.
