Default Remote Panic button modification question

Hello everyone. I'm hoping some of you may be able to help me out with a mod I'm trying to do. I have a 2016 XLT that came with the manual tailgate handle. I've already switched the tailgate handle to an electronic one using a door Popper solenoid with a relay. I'm now trying to see if I can do a remote tailgate release. I purchased a TR7 module that allows you to custom program it. I'm gonna to use program #15. This will send a signal to the door popper solenoid when it receives a positive or negative single. So an example would be, if it receives 3 pulses within a given number of seconds, it will send out a positive or negative trigger to the relay for the solenoid.

My question is....I'm wondering if that signal could come from the panic button on the factory remote. I never use this feature. So I'm wondering, if I find the horn wire that's triggered from the factory panic button, can I use this wire to send a signal to the TR7 to pop the tailgate? I don't want it to interfere with the horns normal operation and the factory alarm. Again, I'm not sure if this is possible. Where can I find this wire off the factory alarm and what color will it be?

I appreciate any help someone can provide me with and suggestions of any other way you think this can be done? Perhaps using the unlock button if hit 4 times within a given time period?

Thanks in advance for your help.
Danny

You can't see what you write without highlighting, change your text settings. What you're suggesting is technically feasible except the panic alarm causes multiple horn blasts where you only want a single pop...going to have to find a way to adjust it so it's a one and done or you'll wear out the popper.

Thanks for letting me know about my text font color. I think I fixed it, but not sure...looks good on my end. On the horn wire, I'm looking to see if I can just use it as a trigger, but I would need to catch it before it goes into the flashing relay or BCM, and that's the part I'm not sure is possible. I'm wondering if anyone on here knows or has the schematic/wiring diagram for the factory alarm that triggers the horn wire when you hit the panic button?
