Default Ziebart, Z-Gloss

Went to a local Ziebart dealer today to get a quote on undercoat and a new tonneau. While there they gave me a quote on their new Z-Gloss ceramic coating . Anyone have this done on their truck, and if so does it hold up like they say. Is it worth 1000$ dollars?

That's nuts! No effing way would I pay $1000 for undercoating. Especially on an aluminum truck.

He's referring to a ceramic coating on the paint (like CQuartz, etc.)... not the undercoating.

Oh. I guess I misunderstood the question.

I plan on having mine undercoated as well, thought about the ceramic coating but for a grand ill wax it myself more often. On a side note, if you have a painted from bumper have them put the clear bra on the bumper. The clear vinyl will be well worth it if you look at 2 year old trucka without it.

Sounds Z-expensive. Reminds me of the Tru-Coat Jerry Lundegaard was trying to sell that pissed-off guy in Fargo. You betcha.

I picked up some Kamikaze ISM coat from Esotericdetail.com. It's silica based like most ceramic coatings. I am going to be putting it on my wife's suv and my truck. You can put it on all plastic, trim and painted surfaces and it lasts up to 3 years. I will only keep my truck until it's paid for so 3 coats over ownership. I think it's around $100/bottle. One bottle will cover the entire truck.

Can't speak for Ziebart. I did get the Ford version when I bought my F150. It was $1000.00. Far as I am concerned it was worth every penny. Been through the brushed auto car wash over 100 times now and not even a micro scratch on the paint. Looks like it did the day it came off the lot.
