Are You Ready for Winter?
The high for today will be 9°C [48°F] and the low tonight will 0°C [32°F] with rain and/or snow. Shouldn't come as a shock since last year at this time we already had a big dump of snow (see my avitar). Seems like just yesterday I took the snow tires off my wife's car. Now I soon need to be putting them back on.
I was planning to install some Gatorback mud flaps to help keep the road ice off the PRBs, but haven't got that done yet. Guess I better get busy. Block heater recalls are all done (all 3 of them). Antifreeze is good to -38°C [-36°F]. Ran winter windshield wiper fluid all summer so that is good. Tires have good tread yet. I'm still running the OE Goodyear M+S tires which I run all year around. Battery tested good. Emergency road kit is in the truck including jumper cables and tow rope. Just need to re-install the snow shovel.
Is your F150 ready for winter?

Winter in the southern states is when 1/2 inch of snow closes down cities like Atlanta. Cars and trucks all over the interstate dividers and far off onto the shoulders. You almost wonder if drivers are trying to get as far off the pavement as possible.

The forecast for today is 110. I have PLENNNNTY of time to prepare for winter. LOL
Actually, it's not unheard of for snow and/or cold temps to hit the weather map by late October. Not likely, but not unheard of.
it's time to consider preparation though, such as windshield wipers (haven't turned mine on in 5 months), tires that wore thinner since February when you last needed traction. HEAT (turn that dial to the right for a change).
Do you carry a winter safety kit? -Probably time to check out that 'box of stuff' so it's ready to go.
In due time, it will be colder and damp here for sure.
I'll worry about that more when it's time to at least wear a shirt. ha

All I need to do is throw my 320# of weight, and bucket of sand in the Ranger, and throw some diesel anti-gel in the tractor, and I'm good to go. I run the same tires year round, so there's that. Screw a bunch of winter.
