Default XL, XLT, Lariat, difference in seat foam?

my new 2017 STX has one of the most uncomfortable seats I have ever had. The seat bottom kinda feels like the padding is mounded up and your sitting on top of it. The seat back seams to too low in the back and pretty much isn't providing support to my lower shoulders. I drove a 2017 lariat for 5 weeks and never had an issue with the seat in that truck. I even unzipped the back and unhooked the manual lumbar adjustment cable to see if that helped. I also do not like that the fixed sitting position of the manual drivers seat is so darn high. It kinda makes me feel like a circus bear driving the truck.

The lowest position on the power seat is probably 3 inches lower. but what I am wondering is if I find a another seat from a different truck that been crashed or something is the seat foam the same across the trims? lastly is the seat foam different from the air bag?

I just switched from a 15 Lariat to a 17 XLT, both with buckets and I think the seats in the XLT are more comfortable than the Lariat! (jmo)

both trucks likely had power seats though. the STX is an upgraded XL

I drove the xlt 300a, 301a and 302a. The power seats in the 302a were definitely more comfortable.

I agree with this 100%. The seats in the Lariat suck.

I just drove 9 hours from Colorado Springs to Oklahoma City and I was impressed with my STX seats. No fatigue.

I recently rode in a Lariat and it seemed a touch more comfortable, but sometimes that means I would actually be LESS comfortable after many hours in the seat, although I realize that probably sounds odd.

I absolutely adore the seats in my XL. I've done five hours and still feel peachy.

Next question?

The XL, STX and XLT have the same seats.. I'd expect the foam to be the same.

I can comment that when I test drove different trucks of the same trim level, there did seem to be differences in overall comfort. Why, I dont know.... compression/break-in of the foam perhaps?

The only seats I couldnt get comfortable whatsoever were the Lariats. The lumbar was far too aggressive.

I do 8/9 hour runs 4 times a year and the seats on my XLT are great. Used to need a day to recover with the Ram but not now.

I must be the opposite but I think the Lariat is more comfortable than the XLT.
