Default X Plan

For those of you who used xplan, did you have special paperwork or verifying x plan before sales contract? Also does it say x plan on sales contract? I negotiated a good discount without x plan and mentioned other dealers beat x plan but want to make sure they don't ask for pin or verification upon order arrival of they did indeed offer x plan. I didn't use x plan when getting price, but seems very close in proximety to x plan pricing for similar vehicles on here. Finally the notation service fee on contract, is that aka doc fee?

Sounds like you need to have a discussion with your dealer since you are unsure what was agreed to and what their terms mean.

Xplan requires a pin, has a special form, and limits doc fees.

If the dealer used xplan to get you the price then you will need the xplan pin paperwork however, if he just made you a great offer without requiring xplan then you most likely won't need it.

As far as the doc fee, xplan reduces the fee down to $100.00. I caught that mistake on my paperwork and had the dealer change it from $298 to $100.

So if you sign a normal sales agreement and no where does it mention xplan, and without asking for pin, can you be safe to say no xplan?

I bet it is very dependent upon the dealership. If I were you, I'd contact my salesperson to have the deal laid out in detail. Ask all of your questions that you are asking here, to your salesperson. They should be able to assist you.

I say that it may be dealer dependent, because the last two vehicles I've ordered were done verbally. Told them the options I wanted, then they ordered my trucks. No paperwork to sign until the vehicle was on the lot and ready for me to accept delivery.

X-plan is a specific regulated plan offered by Ford, not the dealer. The dealer agrees (or declines) to sell you a vehicle according to the Ford-offered plan and is reimbursed by Ford when a sale is concluded according to the X-plan conditions, one of which is a $$ cap on Doc/Admin Fees. If your purchase is not documented as an X-plan on the sales contract, then it is not an X-plan purchase. You have simply bought a vehicle via a negotiated deal...X-plan sales ARE NOT made without a PIN being provided. Be aware that your negotiated price may be above or below what an X-plan deal would be. Watch out for inflated Doc/Admin fees (and other add-on fees) with a negotiated price that exceeds the capped (by Ford) X-plan fees.
