Default Wonky GPS

Anybody have any GPS issues? On the weekend, we took the ferry to the mainland. Got off in Vancouver, and it seemed like the GPS never could quite figure out where it was. I tried to set a destination from favourites, but when I hit the big green "Start" button, it would just drop back to the main screen. It was also very slow to respond to any inputs. I pulled over, shut the truck off for about 20 minutes, grabbed a bite, and got back in and it seemed OK. Got to Monster Jam, parked the truck for 3 hours, then got back in and started to head home. All was good for about 30 minutes, then it started going wonky again. It showed us about 1/4 mile off the main highway, and kept trying to tell me to take the next exit so I could get back on the highway. This went on for about 1/2 and hour until I got to the ferry terminal, and shut the truck off. When I started up again, it worked fine, and has continued to work fine over the last two days.

I have a 2016 with NAV and it has always worked well. Although, it is slow to respond when I first start the truck. I think it takes a while to load/boot-up.

Maybe something like this?

After the truck listed below was about 3 months old, we set off on a road trip from Vegas to San Francisco. Maybe 20 minutes out of town, the GPS goes blank and a Loss of Signal message pops up. So we pull off at Stateline/Primm, shut off the truck and do a restart. No help. WTF?

But not to worry, I happen to have a Garmin 2505 as backup with me, we use it for hiking, off-road, etc. Set it up for the Bakersfield Costco, our next stop, and the GPS says 7,200 miles to destination, Out of Range. Double WTF??

So we continue on, and after we make a pit stop in Barstow, about 80 miles from Stateline, I start it up, and everything works.

I have never had a GPS problem since then. Can only guess that there was either a localized GPS signal loss, or some kind of huge, localized interference.

So let's hope that is all that happened to you.
