Default wiring for optional lights and things

Hey, this may have been asked before, but if you have a low option truck like my XL, and wanted to take it upon yourself to add some courtesy lights to the mirrors and maybe the bed, but didn't want to spend the crazy prices for factory ones, is the wiring in place that I could tap in somewhere and use factory wiring to add some tiny LED's to the mirors, or to add some lights to the bed...

Maybe I'm just being really cheap, and should save to buy the factory kits- but even at that, if I buy the factory bed light kit and plug it in with its included harness, will it just work? Do I need to add any fuses to the fuse box?

sorry for the ignorance...

I believe the bedlights would need to be activated via Forscan.

If you have forscan ( if you don't get it ) these things should be easy enough to add,

https://www.f150forum.com/f118/anyone-add-puddle-lights-363235/#post5038127 - I just did this to my xlt with standard 8 pin power adjust mirrors

bed lights should plug ion and activate easily

geesh after reading through that thread, I may just end up wiring some small led "running lights" like you see at any auto parts store under the truck to illuminate the ground - I could use some of the studs for the running boards to mount the brackets to, and angle them anyway I want so the lights are tucked up under the truck and are not visible, but still light up the ground. Not sure what I will use for a trigger to turn them on, but... Maybe the cargo light feed? I really don't want to pull my whole truck apart yet for simple lights... I have a tendency to break door panel clips and things

hardest part was getting the covers off the door panels to get to the bolts to take them off, the rest was extremely easy
