Truck is a 2020 STX that has a Start-X installed. I'm planning to have the dealer get and program a Ford wireless keypad for it. The service advisor said the keypads usually won't program to the BCM if you have aftermarket remote start installed. Does anyone have experience with this? Did it work?

 

I added my security pad to my STX that I had already added Start-X to but all I had to do was enable it in Forscan. My keypad is wired not wireless.

Eh, because my FordPass app is basically useless since my troca is a poor man XL without the telematics unit and stuff and thangs.

 

No cell signal in some of my hunting spots. Besides, the keys are already in my hand when walking towards the truck.

Someone who has their truck tuned told me they need to temporarily remove the Start-X to update the tune. That's what I did. Took it out today and will put it back in after the dealer programs the keypad. Back to just the phone app to remote start for now.

 

AAR just in case someone else searches the forum with the same question. I removed the Start-X in one piece after disconnecting the battery the other day. Today the dealer programmed the keypad to the truck P/N KB3Z-14A626-A. They warned me that it might interfere with the Start-X of vice-versa and wrote that on the invoice. I got home, disconnected the battery, reinstalled the Start-X still in one piece, reconnected the battery, and went for a drive. Both the keypad and Start-X work properly.

Glad to have an easy way into the truck if I ever find myself without the keys and phone/signal.
