Default windshield washer and wiper malfunction

I have a 2015 Ford f150 and the windshield washer failed. I don' think it's the pump and I don't see a fuse listed for the washer in either of the 2 fuse boxes. The reason I don't think it's the pump is, won't the wipers still work even the pump does not? The wipers work fine, otherwise, except when try to use the washer. Could the column switch be at fault? Thanks for any insight you can give me.

Could be. There have been many issues posted here involving the multifunction switch.

  • Replaced the washer pump
  • Replaced the windshield wiper switch / signal switch (the full piece)
  • Checked the fuse (which also controls the wipers, and it that fuse appears to be okay)

So you haven't checked for DTCs yet nor confirmed whether or not you are getting power to the washer motor. You need FORScan or a high-end diagnostic tool for the scan. A typical OBDII code reader will not work for that. A scan would help to determine if the problem is the wiper motor or the SCCM. The wiper motor actually controls the power to the washer motor.
