Default Windshield heat deflector

OK, it's starting to get hot.

My new truck with a black interior sits in direct sun all day.

Can anyone recommend a specific windshield heat deflector?

I'm looking at this:

https://www.heatshieldstore.com/sun_...o_sensor_/2015

Is there anything better? Do I need one with or without a sensor cutout on a 2015 501a Lariat?

Thanks,

ft.

I personally like the folding ones not the roll up. Covercraft makes one and so does Intro-Tech Auto. FD-902-R is the Intro-tech P/N

I have one and it works for both sensor and without sensor.

Should have bought I white truck. My last truck was black with black leather. Swore up and down never again.

There's also a solar fan you can leave in a window that's cracked open a bit

There are these fold up ones at walmart for about $20. They are thick and seem to have some type of bubble wrap material at the core, sandwiched between reflective material, not cardboard like many of the cheaper types. I have used this reflector in my truck for years and it stands up well to the hot, harsh environment without bending or becoming floppy. If I remember, the brand is AutoShade but it has been a while since I have bought one so I may have misremembered.

You should be able to find them on Amzaon as well.

Funny you say that. I'm looking at 5% ceramic tint for the windshield that reduces heat by 59%. Still researching but so far, it looks legit.

With sensor means there is a cutout for a security sensor that resides in the vehicle. Usually on the mirror.

No sensor means no cutout.
