Default windows auto-reverse

weird one that has happened two or three times on me now...

I'll pull up the mailbox on the road, lower the driver window to get the mail and then pull into the driveway - I will hit the "one touch" to close the window and as I start to accelerate down the driveway (my driveway is a bit under 2/10 of a mile long), it will go maybe 1/2 way up and then immediately reverse back open. When I hit the switch again it will properly close.

I keep trying to figure out if this is some type of "feature" or use-case I'm not thinking of - but just seems odd.....

The auto-reverse is supposed to kick in when it senses that something is jamming the window, or at least that's how its been on my cayman and XF.

Sounds like a bad or just overly touchy sensor.

maybe the light bumpiness of the gravel driveway is triggering that....

Yah same thing happens to mine occasionally. Sensors are really sensitive so if you hit a small bump or anything really besides smooth surface the sensor stops the window from closing. Just try it a second time and should work.

Mine was in the shop twice for this. Both windows. Window regulators were replaced but issue stayed. I was finally told that its normal. Translation: junk design.
