That's exactly what I want to do, but here in San Antonio, part of the inspection is window tint. So dark tint=failed inspection....

I went a total of 15% on the rears, and 20% on the fronts. I was GOING to do a 40% on the windshield, but my tinter told me about a product that's basically an IR blocking material. It's a 75% blockage, so it has a very mellow amount of tint, but it has really done a great job of keeping the cab cool. Pretty interesting material.

I've had numerous friends who have had this issue and what they all do is roll into the shop with their windows down and have rarely had any issue with tint. It also helps if you know someone who owns a shop

In most cases you will actually need a Dr's consent to even do it.

Windshield tint is obviously illegal but it's no more illegal than going below the marked line on the windshield for those who do the strips across the top
.. I guess my area is relaxed when it comes to tint .. 35% on the windshield doesn't impair vision very much, to me anyway. I had my windshield tinted for 3 years in my old fx4 before trading it

That's my old truck that I had tinted the same way .. 5% all around 35% windshield

Most states require 35% or less the front windows in all the cars I have purchased lately the rears have been about 35% and the fronts about 5 or 10 %. If you go over 35% you can get a ticket, unless you have a letter from your doctor saying you need more. I bought my truck from a dealer in Florida and the front windows were already at 35%. I guess the sun is a problem in Florida and not in other states... I have been told that the PO PO have a meter to measure your tint, not sure that is true. Tint as much as you want just beware of the possible consequences.....

Yes the police do have a device .. Just roll the window down and it'll clip on the window and measure the tint % .. I know I couldn't get away with my tint in other locations .. Just tint like most people in your area do .. Thankfully the police in my area are very relaxed on it .. I know usually it's just a fix it ticket or they'll make you pull it off on spot

Lets clarify one thing. No state "requires" window tint. What you all mean to say is they dont allow darker that a certain percent (in many states it's 35% on the front side windows). A requirement means its mandatory. Window tint is not mandatory. "Allow" and "require" do not mean the same thing........
