After looking at this window sticker why is there an extra charge for the 3.55 gear ratio. Shouldn't that be included in the Max tow package?

 

Yea that's kind of odd. I thought it automatically changed it to 3.55 with the Max Tow package and was a $50 additional charge with FX4 Package and Trailer Tow combined.

Look on the bright side, they didn't charge you for the front license plate bracket : )

 

The order guides states that the 3.55 locker is "Included in Max Trailer Tow Pkg. (53C)" for the 3.5EB 4x4.

However, it also shows that the 3.31 locker is included with the FX4 package, which you ALSO have.

Either way, I'd say you're paying for it with the Max Tow Pkg and shouldn't be paying for it again, even if you have the FX4 package.

 

I know the online build isn't super accurate but it states that on a 3.5LEB a 3.31 E locker is included in Max Tow and a 3.55 locker is included on a 2.7LEB and 5.0L.

 

The ordering guide says that, for the 145" WB SuperCrew with the 3.5 EB:

• Standard: 3.31 non-locker
• INCLUDED in Max Tow: 3.55 locker
• INCLUDED in FX4: 3.31 locker but N/A if you have the Max Two Pkg

(3.31 locker or non-locker is not even an option with the Max Tow Pkg)

It doesn't say OPTIONAL with the Max Tow or FX4 - it says INCLUDED WITH.

So, IMHO, the Max Tow should include the 3.55 locker at no additional cost (nothing above the cost of the Max Tow Pkg itself, that is).
