Default wifi connectivity issue with Sync3

2016 F150 Platinum with a Feb 16 build-date

When parked in my garage the truck will "see" my wireless network, but when I attempt to connect it prompts for the WPA password. I do NOT have a password setup on my network (live in the country, who needs passwords....) so I have nothing to enter of course.

I am only getting 1 bar of signal strength in the garage, and wondering if somehow this low signal strength is messing up the handshaking when identifying the network and what security options are present, but wanted to see if anyone else had encountered this - or if anyone else is connecting to a Wifi network that does not require a password and doing so successfully.

Possibly trying to connect to your home computer, cell phone, tablet, printer, Xbox or any other wifi device you might have?

A) The signal strength might be poor in the garage due to walls.
B) You should ALWAYS have a password. ISIS could set up near you, use your internet to do terrorist web searches, and get you flagged for the No Fly list.

Yep - signal strength is weak due to location of my AP (basement) vs the garage. But it still should properly negotiate

As someone with over 1M miles flown and used to do 100k+ a year until the last few years, I should be so lucky

With a weak signal the speed will be too slow to do anything anyway. No updates yet, when it's released you can always do the update via a USB drive. That will be way faster in transferring the update then wifi.
