Why'd you choose Ford over the competition?

Safety was probably the main reason I purchased an F-150. I have owned a couple of Silverados, the last being a 2012 for my business. My dad works in law enforcement and has told me in his opinion the Chevrolets don't seem to hold up as well in wrecks. I also knew of a man who was hit in his Silverado (which was just like mine) and his leg was broke pretty bad. I never really could get that out of my head.
Ultimately, my experience is just anecdotal. However, the 2015 SuperCrew F-150 did excellent in IIHS testing. Depending on the circumstances, no truck can fully protect you as well.
The other was probably performance. The 3.5 EcoBoost tears the GM 5.3 up. It is a crazy engine that can haul.

I did not like the looks of the dodge or the **** you turn to put it in gear. The chevy's interior looked cheap to me. Like the ford because of comfort, rear seat room, and the 3.5 EB. Also i think Ford makes a statement about quality. IMO

Family has owned Ford, GMC and Dodge. I always liked the Fords best. My brother has a 14 Dodge w Hemi and my Dad has an older GMC. I don't like the looks of the Ram at all, I think it's ugly. GMC...well you don't wanna talk bailout (am aware Ford got some help too).
What it really came down to was 10k in incentives and the utility of the truck. Better tow and payload then the other contenders I considered. And I think it's the best looking, although I do like the silverados look.
Was considering one of the new "mid size" trucks or the new tacoma, but decided if I was paying around 40k I might as well get a fully capable truck.

I was OK w getting a Toyota, wife's parents are rancher/farmers they run F series exclusively. Currently a 150 boost, and a 350 scab, long bed dually. So she said we're only buying FORD, I was ok w that.
Dad said get the 5.0 over the boost for longevity, I did
Guy here bought a plat tundra after I bought my f150 plat, glad I got the Ford, alot more doo-dad's for a free thousand more.

Good Truck
The '12 with the 3.5 handles great, with reasonable dependability. @78K, I'm trading it for a '15. It will arrive Wednesday of this week. The 36 gal fuel tank was the clincher. I would have considered a tundra, but a 26 gal fuel tank is too small.

I bought it mostly for the aluminum body that won't rust and I like the way it looks.
Other factors were Ford trucks have very few issues and when they do warranty is more than fair. I work at a Ford and Chrysler dealer, Ford warranty pays us fair hours for warranty work. The Dodge trucks are just crap, Chrysler will cheat customers out of warranty repairs any way possible and the pay times on warranty work cheat us, they are all way too low.

Actively shopping now, and hope to close the deal on a F150 before the end of the month.
I've never been brand loyal, and growing up, my dad had both Ford and Chevy trucks, so I had no bias. I drove a friend's Dodge a few years ago, and just didn't like it, and had a bad experience with an older Chrysler car, so Dodge was out.
Came down to Ford vs Chevy, and I think the F150 just looks miles better (I hate those exaggerated fender flares on Silverados). And looking for a V6, and am really encouraged about the 2.7. Once I test drove one, I was sold on the 2015 F150. Now I just have to bring one home

Worst hairday ever...
I spent over a year deciding on my next truck. Made my purchase in July.
I've owned all Ford trucks since late 80's, four F-series and one Ranger.
Since the Ranger is no longer available I looked at Tacoma's and Colorado's.
Really liked the Colorado, test drove a few, they are nice. Problem is difficulty finding a configuration I want and when it is found you can't even get $100 off MSRP. Too many people looking to buy a vehicle in short supply. Configuration I wanted would have been $35k, that's not even the Z71 package.
Tacomas was told to not go with 15 or earlier, wait for the 16's. Apparently lots of people waiting for the 16's so I'm guessing short supply and high demand will keep prices high for awhile, like the GM/Chevy.
I don't need a full size however brand loyalty, decent rebates and availability I'm back in an F150. Love it!

I'm not brand loyal at all and chose the F150 because of the aluminum body and the technology. The other guys are still building the same old trucks.
