Why Me!
Well it way a beautiful morning in Mount Dora Florida. I had just left the car wash and my 2017 F-150 Lariat Special Edition was looking nice.. Then it happened. A 75+ lady driving with her head up her A-- tried to cross the intersection from my Left. There was a City Police Officer in front of me and we were doing about 25 mph. She just missed his rear bumper and, you got it I met her head on and scrapped her Right side from front to back. She continued past me het the curb and spun around hitting me again on my passenger side. The officer in front of me stopped to assist. I ended up with a broken Sternum and a small Hernia from being restrained my seatbelt, air bag did not deploy. So now I am driving a rental Chevy Cruse waiting for over $6,500 in damage. Told dealer OEM parts only.....
Why would you accept a small rental car to replace your full size truck while you are waiting for it to be repaired?
I drive a half ton truck for a reason and if my truck gets taken away from me due to the negligence of another driver, you bet your butt my rental will be like and kind to what I had before. I might be willing to take another brand, but it will be a half ton truck either way.
At least you made it out okay for the most part, that is really all that matters.

well, if you absolutely NEED the truck for business use or whatever, you're certainly entitled to a full size truck as rental. Course, if you're going thru your own policy for rental, that may be the problem as personal policies can sometimes have daily monetary limits. Otherwise......
yeah I would make them ante up for a different rental since it's clearly their fault and I suspect is also shown as such on the police report.
either way glad you're mostly OK and good luck on the rest.

Don't accept their insurance company's first settlement offer. If you're not familiar how the insurance "game" works you may want to get an attorney. That's coming from someone (me) that is anti attorney for the most part but if her insurance can screw you out of a fair settlement, they will.
Hope you're back on the mend and it all works out. With a 90 year old mother that recently crashed into a light people and totaled her car, some of these older drivers should never have been re issued their drivers license. Some scary drivers out there. I'm truly grateful that finally getting the keys away from my mother did not end up in her death or anyone else's injury's, or worse.

Damn, that's a hell of an impact to break your sternum. Definitely consider an attorney. Don't sign *anything* until you know exactly what you're signing. Make sure to go after diminished value in the end. And watch out for old women!
