The reason I started this post was not to create s firestorm for my (but honey badger don't give a chit) rather to create a searchable web option for folks looking for a review. And I don't expect someone who just dropped 50k on a new truck to agree that the older model might be better.

The interior front room is smaller not due to the dimension Ford lists on their web page, but due to the dash being so big. It feels as if the dash and everything under it protrudes further into the cabin. I'm sure if I were to measure the distance from the windshield
To the end of the dash the new one would be quite a bit deeper and it feels to me like someone with a large belly is standing too close to me during a conversation.

In the back seat the dimensions must be smaller. I've got 3 kids and a big dog. I bought my truck because there is room for my dogs bed, and him on the floor and there is still room for the kids feet. In the new truck the seat looks the same back there (which is good) but the floor space seems smaller, which made me think the whole front row was probably pushed back due to the enormous dash area taking up so much cab space.

As for the front seats, maybe this 10,000 mile rental truck got bad foam or something, but I'm dreading my 8 hours I'll spend in the truck today, cuz it'll be painful on my back.

The new truck rides nice, shifts nice, radio interface is nice, but not any better than my 2012 lariat. The good stuff simply doesn't outweigh the bad stuff for me.

The sad part is, no amount of adjustment will fix that for those that are way out.
The physical door design has changed and doesn't fit into the cab and then seal, the door hangs outside the cab and then seals to the outside. Dumb design, but saved a lil weight! Works great with a flexible door. All one can do is adjust and adjust so tightly, but guess what, the flexible door and seals will eventually give and you'll be back to air gaps and road noise.

That's as explained by another forum member.

I agree with you on the front seat space but the rear seat, the 06 was good very good, but this 15 there is crazy room back there. Man three people and my dogs could have a party back there. Ok exaggerating a little but there is positively a lot more room in the back seat. It's a lot.

The dash seems longer because the hood is shorter and the windshield is raked farther back improving fuel economy. There is literally more legroom in the front, you can't argue the specs. And I've owned two 09-14 trucks.

I have long legs, there is not more leg room for the driver. I had to really move the seat around all the way back to make the new truck work for me. The old truck I had a couple of inches to play with towards the rear of the seat track. There is not more leg room in this new truck. Personally I think it is the way the seat moves but none the less I have the peddles all the way down and the seat all the way back. That being said I'm still playing with seat adjustment so I may find a sweet spot for my body build.

I don't think he is being a troll, just stating his observations.

Not sure I'm following that one. In my mind, there is an opening for a door, a door, connection points for the door, and seals in between. They were engineered to fit and seal. If they do not, there are variances in one or all. Speaks to why some seem to have zero issues, where others have many. It's inconsistency with the stampings and assembly.

When did this thing happen that people will stare in the face of ACTUAL DATA AND MEASUREMENTS and tell you that you're wrong? Unreal.

Also "to create a searchable web option for folks looking for a review"? Hey congrats OP, potential F150 buyers now have a place to read a review! Well done. /s
