Default Why the delay on the 502a package???

Why do you think it is that the 502a package on the Lariat with the 2.7 EB is listed as TBD??

The package was not available at all in 2015 with the 2.7. Now they have made the 2.7 EB the "standard" engine in the Lariat but they won't let you build it on the website with the 502a package. Ford also list the build date for that set up as TBD on the another publication. Makes no sense to me at all that you would not offer this combination right away on the 2016. Why the delay???

They also list 20 inch wheels on Lariat as "late availability"? Again, why? What could possibly be more simple on an assembly line than installing one of the many types of tires/rim options that you know they have ready to go for the various models coming down the line??

Not that it really matters but can anyone think of a reason the 2.7 and 502a package would be so delayed????

I honestly have no idea... But I find it strange that I can build a 3.5L Lariat with 502a, but 2.7L doesn't allow for it

Really wish someone had an answer to this. I keep checking the build site and am disappointed every time 502a is not available. I've pretty much decided that I'm going with the 2.7l, and really want the 502a. All I've heard is how it was supposed to be available on the '16s, and a 3rd party site I found let me build it that way, so I'm hoping it's just a glitch on the ford build site.. Hopefully when it's time for me to pull the trigger there won't be any problem with me ordering my Lariat sport 2.7 with the 502a.

Go to a dealer and build. The salesman that helped me was very knowledgeable with the ins and outs of the F150

I ordered a 2.7 with 502A back on 9/21 and the only time it showed up as late availability when the 20" wheels were added. The 502A with 2.7 was available to build and order. Nobody there had a clue why the wheels would delay the order. My salesman suggested ordering it with the stock wheels and then swapping them out once it arrived. They do several custom builds where the 20's are removed during lifts, so hopefully I can get some of those.

Spoke to a dealer today who told me that it looks like the 2.7 with 502a is a J2 build. That means Job 2. He estimates that it could be 3-5 months before they start J2. Now he may or may not know what he is talking about but that is the only answer I have been able to get so far.

Have you received a VIN yet or do you have any updates on your build date??

Mine was ordered as dealer stock, so not sure that I would receive that. I will look into your J2 info and see what he can find out. He is the new car sales manager and seems to have a good handle on the situation. I will update as I get any more info...

I ordered mine back in April, got it in June, you could not get 502a and 2.7. Months later you could get the 2015 with the 502a and 2.7.

You can not get a 2.7EB Lariat with the 502a package in 2015. I would have one if you could.
