Most people dont like the cheap chrome wheels because the finish goes bad really fast. That and the whole "i hate chrome" thing happening in todays world. (which is stupid) I prefer polished wheels at the end of the day though. My .02
I think my 18s look alright , after all it is a pickup, and I ram the **** out of snow banks and do other fun things with it, not many people rolling around on their $3000 American forces do anything besides cruise main ,if anyone made a nice polished aluminum wheel (weld racing take notice!) I would use them. I also think black wheels would look like dick on my pickup

It just grew out of way to much chrome from 80's and 90's.

Gen X, X games whatever, brought on the whole matte black craze. It's generational. I have two tone now, love them because I felt that you could see no outline of the design with a straight black wheel.

Now painted is coming on strong. Painted headlight, wheels, etc. flash back to the whole 90's Miami Vise deal.

Tired of skulls and demented clowns on paint jobs for sure

Yep, I was on the early curve of the fad because I've always liked the look, and now I just don't want to admit that it's almost played out. Will probably be doing black wheels on my F150.

I like my F150, but really miss my BMW.

I wish they made the lug patterns for the F150 on these rims.

In person they looked really good.

I think black wheels look terrible and ghetto/low class on any car or luxury SUV. However, on trucks I love black and prefer it to chrome. Mentally for me it has to do with a truck being designed with utility and off-road in mind which black=muddy which makes black a good look

It's just another facet of the phony rugged off road look that usually goes nowhere more challenging than the mall.

I put the factory charcoal 20's on my black gator and they look pretty good. I had 24" chrome on it just got old and needed a fresh look
