Default Who has the better tune Livernois vs. 5Star tunes

Just wondering what everyone thinks about these two. Anyone had tunes from both on their 5.0? Looking at tuning my 5.0 and wanted to get some feedback from people who have used these guys. One better than the other or are they equal?

From all the reviews I've read, you can't go wrong with either one. Both are highly reputable tuners with great reviews.

That's what I have seen in my research as well. I noticed 5* offers an optional warranty with their tunes. Is this the same with Livernois I wonder?

How does these company's tunes differ from Diablo Sports tunes. I'm just curious.

Any updates on livernois vs. 5star?

I'm leaning towards 5star to save money but I am reading about livernois and seeing good things. Are they both equal? Just go with 5star and save the $200?

Before any vendors jump in here, let's remember that this is the general forum area. No advertising. Give facts about your tunes, if you wish, but no "contact us" or "we'll take care of you" or anything like that. Let the users decide who they want to go with.

If both of these apples are close to being the same, aftermarket warranty, and ability to change tune's quickly interest me the most. If I suddenly need to go pull a trailer, I don't won't to wait until Monday for someone to do something if I need the trailer on Saturday.

I THINK that Livernois has access to the actual tuning software used to create stock files. If true, this give them access to all sorts of possibilities that HPTuners/SCT can't do. This is also why Livernois has their own handheld device. HPTuners/SCT are hacked by the aftermarket and never can find everything in the code, not to mention the occasional error on the hackers part while identifying data locations and functions. This all adds up to the Livernois being able to supply a better product. However, I personally used 5* on my last truck and was happy with the results.

I have gone with 5 Star for my last 2 trucks. The determining factor was the SCT tuner. 5 Star uses this platform, whereas Livernois has there own proprietary device that costs a fortune.

As far as the tunes themselves go, I think Livernois has the edge.

I have been running the 5* 89 P/T tune for about 20k miles. Couldn't be happier. Huge improvement over stock. SCT released a software update a couple months ago so now you can change the tire size. I am running 285/65/20 KO's of my 15' Platinum Eco. I ordered for Stage 3 Motorsports. Fast shipping but you do have to wait a few days after you get the programmer to receive your custom tunes from 5* if you go that route.
