Default Where to go

I ordered my new 2015 and was wondering where is a good site to sell my existing 2010 f150 very low miles and great condition. I know I can trade but why leave a couple thousand on the table.

Just remember you'll get a tax credit (check your state laws to be sure) on the trade value so you might not be as far off in price as you might think.

Autotrader.com, cars.com, and careful use of craigslist can all be good options for private party sales. If you're leasing the new truck, no tax benefit for trading in, but if you're buying than it would probably be worth it to trade in for tax reduction. I've had great luck with both craigslist and autotrader in the past.

I'm an experienced seller and my 1 owner Tundra brought me several thousand after the tax advantage was figured in. Wholesale has ~ $3-4k diff on a 2010 PU-it's a matter of patience and if you have the time to do a private sale, some don't. Lots of buyers out there that don't want the "dealership experience"! It's always some level of a PITA to sell your own but I like the money coming my way. Ebay works great too. If your in an urban area I'd use the free spots first choice-CL!!! Have good pics and be ready to talk on the phone to some true idiots and several scam trials.
My truck was on CL but sold from a free MC flea mkt. PM me for any details of selling activities.

I've sold several vehicles on Craigslist. The only negative thing is you will get callers who say they are coming to see your vehicle and never show up. You will also get the occasional person calling who says they can guarantee they will sell your vehicle. I imagine its probably a scam. I actually bought one of those Tracfone's from Walmart just to sell the vehicles. I didn't want to give out my real cell phone number.

Google voice is a good free option to buying a burner phone.

CarMax is another option. You won't get top dollar, but it's a pretty painless experience and a lot faster than other options.

I use CL email reply which is insulated by CL from your actual web address. The dozens of "is it still for sale" or "will you take this ??? for it" and worse, are all going to your email for easy deletion. The contacts worth talking to will stand out.
I don't go buy another phone, black out tag numbers or get generally paranoid about making deals. I do get real serious about who comes to my home address, who gets my real phone number and so on. When showing a car I meet them nearby and go from there.
Lately I'm getting cell calls and don't know how as I am a flip phone guy and keep the number to selected use only!
FWIW, there ARE actual folks that want your money to sell for you-not all scams but nearly so. People that don't show up- doesn't happen so much when you live in the boonies. It's a PITA but part of dealing with humans and boils down to a trade with a lot lizards boss or private sale that puts $$$ in my pockets. I'll take the money.
Insuring that the check is secure is harder all the time in today's world.
I ask for prior information to the sale or the deal is off. I'm polite about the whole transaction but do demand that I get contact info for the issuing bank/CU and a scanned copy of the check to my email. I call that bank and discuss authenticity! It could still go the wrong way but once you meet the person much will be revealed IMO.
Back to BB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

In De at least, there is a window on the tax credit. Should be the same in all states. Take your paperwork to the dmv yourself if the dealer is giving the runaround. Like someone else said though, car,ax is a great reference point. Takes an hour, and you can keep it in you backpocket. Also their website gives an accurate number to aim for resale wise (look for similar vehicles).
