When to use 4A?
I started a thread a while back askin why people liked 4a.
Many of the comments stated they like 4a in the rain because it makes they able to drive aggressively like there is no rain at all.
I don't get it, I've never had issues driving in the rain in an open differential, empty pickup truck (30 years of owning a truck)
I don't live in a place where we receive much now. I've only had 4a since November and I've never used it aside from switching to the mode to see what it does. I used 4l and 4h for a day in the forest cutting Christmas trees in snow as deep as my doors. Without having a 4a ever in my life, I wasn't going to use that environment to learn about it.

Jeep used to like to make it kinda tricky.....
Put it in 4-Auto and the display said "FULL TIME".
Put it in 4-Hi and the display said "PART TIME".
If you didn't know better and didn't like to read you might think it was displaying the operation when actually it was the opposite of the operation...it instead indicated how you were allowed to use it.
I think it was an inside joke.

But, others have had a different experience.
One of the great things about many vehicle options, such as 4A, is that you don't have to use it. You can leave it in 2WD to your heart's content

There wasnt much to learn about 4A for me, i didnt have it either so when i first used it i basically put it in and just drove as if i normally would in 4x4 on snow covered roads. 4l/4h are perfect for deep snow like that but where 4A is perfect is roads where conditions vary from slick to dry. You're lucky that you dont get much snow but we get quite a bit and my 15 min trip to work can range from snow covered to pretty clear pavement. Its also beyond nice to be able to turn in 4A.
That right there is why I live in Tx... No snow(well maybe every few years), no salt, no rust. Bolts, frame, and truck bottom look almost
new(once washing the grime off) 15-years later on... Body rust? What is that?
.. OH.. Darn hot though.. man...
