Default Wheelbase ?

Have never had the 157 inch wheelbase, am looking at a truck that has it. Is it a pain or not that big a deal? Did the measuring and it will fit in my garage!

I have one and it’s not a big deal. I must mention that I’ve driven trucks most of my life, so I’m used to long vehicles.

The only places I feel limited is parking in downtown garages and parking lots, where the spaces are actually smaller to fit more vehicles. Other than that, u-turns have to be thought out a little better sometimes and a couple of drive throughs have been tight. You’ll get really good at backing into spaces, which is actually much easier.

If you want it to feel easier, test drive a super crew F250/350 with the 8’ bed....that will make the 157” seem like a joy!

In all seriousness, you get used to the length pretty fast. Maybe not on a test drive, but you’ll be a pro in just a week or two.

I was researching the same question a couple of days ago and found this thread, which I found fairly helpful.

Based on spec's, it would fit in my garage with like an inch to spare. That sounds like a parking nightmare. And I'd have to open the door all the time to get around it.
I'm glad I didn't get it.

Drive it, I'm sure you'll figure it out, however it will probably be too long to fit within paint stripes.
My SCrew / short bed overhangs paint stripes in some cases.

I came from a mid-size truck, the Ford took a long time for me to be comfortable, after driving full size Fords from 1993 until 2011. Then 8 years in a mid size and all of a sudden I forgot how to park a full size truck.

I can park it now pretty easily, sometimes 2 swings to back into a spot. But no big deal. The longer would be a bit more challenging, but again is possible. There are the longer wheel based Fords where I work and they all park them.
