I just installed the rear wheel well liners and mudflaps tonight. I would recommend removing the rear wheels for much easier access.. FWIW..

Tip: the rear liners bend a lot better when warmed up in the sun. A bugger to install in winter. Really hard to fold into the well when the plastic is cold. Otherwise a piece of cake. Ford's pictograph instruction sheet with the kit is useless; but it is easy anyway. And, remove the wheels. Otherwise, you'll be cursing.

Default wheel well liners

Whats the pros/cons of the liners?
Never had a truck with the liners. Can mud and water get under the liner?
Thanks

So I looked at a schematic of the parts exploded view at my Ford Parts Dept. The counter person showed the Liner we speak of here but also showed me 3 additional trim pieces that finish off the wheel well. Anyone noticed this?

Part #'s listed here... They are listed without the prefix.

27886A
27886B
28260B
28260A

None are expensive either. Total cost to me at 10% over for 8 total pieces was $175.00

as no Ford dealers near me, I'd like to see a pic of those parts aith placement so I can decide if I want aftermarket or OE wheel liners. FWIW, I've personally removed plenty of wheel liners on crashed cars and in front on trucks and never seen more than one piece involved, thus my curiosities up on this as I have one of these trucks ordered. I'll throw in (again) that nI fail to understand why the cheap bastards cannot put a simple rear wheel well liner on a $50,000 truck?

Having pulled them off many times(crash cars ,the repair process makes you pull them) I can attest that they keep out mud and debris. Many high end cars these days have a felt like material on the wheel well liners to lessen road noise-my BMW X3, SAV is an e.g. on this idea.
I never had a truck with them either but plant too this time around.

I have the image saved from my email in pdf form but cannot figure out how to post it here. If anyone can help me with that, I'll get it up here. Nevermind, took a screen shot...
