Dealership resealed my diff because it was seeping. When checking it out I noticed a couple things:

1. It seems the cover doesn't 100% line up with the housing. There is probably about a 1/8" part of the housing visible.

2. There is like a black sticker on the bottom passenger side. I took a pic and attached it.

Are both of these things normal? Can I take that sticker off? I have the 9.75 rear.

 

Sticker might indicate gearing inside the pumpkin. perhaps painted over with undercoating?

 

That is on the axle housing. It's something else. Guess I could pull it off but...
