Default What is this sensor (or is it one)?

Well, this is my first post here. I have been "lurking" for a couple of weeks as I was shopping for my new truck. And just over a week ago, I finally got my 2015 F150 Platinum (Tuxedo Black). We love it.

But now, we just had a hail storm this past weekend. Thankfully, I was able to pull the front of the truck into the garage, and the side of the truck exposed to the wind-blown hail was protected by large shrubs, so just one small dimple on the right rear fender, and a couple on the roof.

However, it looks like a couple of sensors (if that's what they are) on the corners at the rear of my cab roof took some damage. I don't know what they are or what they looked like before (and I have googled the entire interweb looking!)

Does anybody have any idea what these are, and if they are important to the operation of my vehicle?

Thanks,
Bruce

Hi.

They are fasteners, not sensors. Go get 'em replaced.

They are just fasteners to hold that rubber strip in place.

Thanks for the reply.

Fasteners? Maybe Ford shouldn't be putting their trucks together using glass fasteners!

And if there are no sensors on the roof, that's why nothing ever came up in my "Sensors on F150 cab" searches.

The fastener on the other side is still intact, but the top of it is kind of 'puckered' in.

Thanks again.

If you drive a Tuxedo Black Screw Sport from Planet Ford with temp tags I passed yougoing the same way the other day on way to work going down Louetta. I was in a Tuxedo Black Scab Sport with temp tags.

Wife is driving a rent car while hers in in the shop. I pulled that sucker out of the garage and got the truck in as far as I could during that hail storm!!

I do go down a portion of Louetta everyday to and from work, but I got my truck from Joe Myers Ford. Glad to hear you were able to get your truck protected. My daughter works right on Louetta in a little snowcone trailer with a tin roof (Buzzles), and she had to put up with that storm for the entire hour. And her little Prius got really beat up.
