I did the sync upgrade today to convert from the 8 in to 12in for my 2020 lariat. Came across this plug that was dead plugged into the little cubby below the 2/4 four-wheel-drive ****.

What is it for?

I believe that would be for the brake controller.

Blank insert if not equipped with the Trailer Brake Controller. If you install the TBC, you can use that plug on the back of the blank and the dealer can program it.

A trailer backup controller or trailer brakes. Comes as part of the better towing package.
