Prior to 2017 i think when Audi changed their CPO to be in line with BMW and Mercedes you could have bought a new 2016 Audi and got 3 yr/36,000 mile power train warranty or a 2015 Audi and got 6/100k mile power train warranty .. at that point CPO was a no brainer

Much better deal than the suckers buying brand new, that depreciation is epic, you can get so much more vehicle for your money used, let the first conspicuous consumption guy that has to have brand new take that massive value drop, then just swoop in for the real deal a few years later

Ever occur to you that maybe it’s just more car sales industry hype, that too many sheep in the last decade have followed? Like transgender restrooms. Call a spade, a spade... it’s a USED car.

Ever wonder why some folks are so compelled to attempt to humiliate others that don’t share their same thoughts? I choose to be a bit more peaceful and accept that we’re all allowed to do and think as we wish. When someone else buys my vehicles for me, maybe I’ll listen to them. Until then... not so much. Have a good day cupcake!

1) You get a huge warranty extension Total BS - The CPO price is higher, which includes and aftermarket extended warranty (insurance policy)
2) Your bank lowers your interest rate ROFL!!! This is some total BS told by the finance manager. If you believe this, I've got some beachfront property in Kansas for you....
3) Service courtesies are extended to a point you'd never get on a used vehicle Ahhhhhh ha ha ha ha ha ha ha.... Just... Aaaaahhhhh haaaaaa ha ha ha ha
4) Further extended service plan warranties are hugely discounted if your vehicle is CPO Riggghhhhhtttttt........ Not factory extended maybe some BS aftermarket that the dealer makes 95% profit on that will never pay out if/when you need it.
The above is the biggest pantload I think I have ever read. To say you've drunk the koolaid doesn't even begin to explain it.

That depends on the vehicle. German luxury cars and full-size SUVs I agree. They depreciate pretty good in the first year or two. Pickups are a different story, as are things like a Jeep Wrangler, Toyota 4Runners, all of those hold their value very, very well.

I bought my ford as a CPO simply because it had what I wanted, was clean, not because it was a CPO.
No magic warranty, but I had not expected that..
Don’ Know about interest rate as I paid cash.
Price was basically what an uncertified was, but unless you have comparable vehicles, difficult to say CPO costs more.
I think it more comes down to dealerships. We have 2 Ford dealerships here. One with limited stock certifies scratched, rough vehicle same price as other dealer where I bought where the vehicles look pristine.
I dont feel I paid a premium for CPO, they sill dropped the price compared to non-Ford dealers I hagged with trying to make used car deals.

besides the OP was of things you found in the vehicle. Mine as totally clean.

So you're saying you would rather buy a non CPO when a CPO is available for the same price? I agree that the "certified" is a crap load, but I'll take it if it has a warranty, at least if the warranty is through a manufacturer such as Lincoln. It does boil down to buyer beware. Certified from a hick town car dealer, oh hell no, certified through Ford, GM, etc. yeah, if the price is right. I just did a small comparison between a certified and non certified MKT, same year, similar miles, price different within $500. Can always negotiate the price down $500 and still get a 6year 100K warranty, worth having even if it does have a $100 deductible. Better to have it and not need it than need it an not have it.

Would I buy one that cost more than a non CPO, nope, and I think that is pretty much what the majority here think too.

I have also never found anything odd in a used vehicle before. Sure it wasn't a Lojack?
