3.5 EB. Wanted the torque for when I someday buy a camper. And for other towing I occasionally do.

If it helps, I drove a 2016 with a 5.0 the other day as a rental. I would not trade my 3.5 EB for the 5.0 (sorry 5.0 fans). It was a night and day difference. Especially when hitting the gas to pass someone or to get up to highway speeds. I was shocked at how much the 3.5 EB was better than the 5.0.

5.0L here, too. I believe the EB is a good engine and will continue to gather more share, but I'm not yet ready to sway from the V8 crowds just yet.

you know, i went in to look at an ecoboost 3.5 cause a friends shop did some custom work to one and it looked sharp .

i test drove it, and i really wasn't all that impressed to be honest. it gets a lot of praise for power n towing etc. but it didn't feel fantastic,
did some more reading asked a few friends who have them, or had n swapped into the 5.0

everything was bringing me back to the 5.0.
the final nail in the coffin was hearing an eco boost with an exhaust. yeah. killed pretty much any desire i had.

Had 2 with the 3.5 EB. Great motor. Picking up a new Platinum today with a 5.0. We will see. I'm sure i'll like it.

The 5.0 has to hit higher rpms for the power so just put the pedal to the floor. But the ecos have higher internal pressures and temps making more wear and tear on the engine. If you floor it, it will go!

3.5 EB- I had the choice between 5.0 and 3.5eb only as I was buying platinum trim.
I went with the ecoboost because my 2011 was really good.

That being said, I also bought the 16 because I dont want the next gen ecoboost yet or the 10 speed tranny. I like that my setup has a few good years of proven reliability already
