What does the Lariat have the xlt can't get?

One thing I am bummed about that I just discovered - the sport package takes away the ability to have the front 40/console/40 split and keep the shifter on the column. I kind of liked this idea because the space gained for storage, but the sport package moves the shifter to the center console.

Yeah, to me it doesn't really matter, but like I mentioned, it frees up a lot of storage space in the center console. if i opt out of the sport package to get it, I'd go blue jean because that is a great color. But I like the sport package and lightning blue

I haven't read all 6 of the pages for this thread so I don't know if this was mentioned. Forgive me if it was. Also, I'm not sure if this is true for the 2017 models. I wasn't interested in paying the extra $5 - $8 K for the Lariat when I first decided that I wanted an F150. I was satisfied with the options that came with the 302a pkg. I wanted the XLT 302A with Chrome pkg and the console with buckets. I also wanted console shifter but in the 2016, you couldn't get this combination. You had to settle for the column shifter if you got the chrome pkg and console in the XLT. You could only get the column shifter in 2016 with the sport pkg but I didn't want the painted bumper and grill. I had made up my mind that I would have to settle for the column shifter. The day that I went shopping for my truck, the dealer with the best price didn't have the color I wanted (Silver) along with all the other things I had to have. Just as I was about to leave, the dealer suggested I look at the Lariat they had in Silver. It was the 501a and it had everything I wanted; Chrome pkg, Console, and Console shifter. He came off the sticker enough that I had to take it and I'm so glad that I didn't have to do without any of the main things that I wanted. The added Lariat items that I didn't really care for in the beginning, I'm really happy to have on my truck, now, such as the leather, the box sidesteps, remote start, push button folding mirrors, BLIS, the twin panel moonroof (which you can get on the XLT), and the cooled/heated seats. Pay the extra for the Lariat and you'll be happy.
