What to do?
My 2017 XL 2.7L has 230K and is now seriously consuming coolant. It has been sipping it for a long time and I have used sealant for the possible head crack issue, and it worked.
Now after I decel, when I start acceleration, I get a large cloud (white smoke which dissipates quickly, so coolant). I am assuming turbo seal but other suggestions are appreciated along with any diagnostic procedures to find the real issue.
I hesitate changing turbos and/or heads with that many miles on the bottom.
Another problem is the long block and short block are both out of production. Don't want to risk junkyard, Not sure to trust remanufactured.
How to proceed?

I myself think so much of my truck that if I had to I would replace the entire drivetrain if I had to, the only non option for me would be a total wreck.
With as many 2.7's out there in the salvage yard there HAS to be some under 100K mileage. Hard for me to believe there are not viable replacement engines available, Jasper has to make them.
I would do everything in my power not to buy another new vehicle, you are being spied on like nobody would believe if you knew. Insurance companies know EVERYTHING about your driving-EVERYTHING, and big brother is in on it also. I'm sure with my truck being only 10 yrs old its almost the same
Just fix the engine brother!!

I would DEFINITELY opt to pay a QUALIFIED shop some lift time to give you an idea of how badly you treated the truck. Your idea of a repower is hilarous... lots of high mileage warranty options out there. Heck you can even rebuild the disposable turbos for better service life.
Of course if your truck is a trash bucket with the steering wheel worn through and the seat material worn through... then a cleaned used truck with the lowest miles would be my 2nd choice.
I really do appreciate the suggestions, even the ones that I am a toothless redneck living out of my rolling dumpster, lol. Seriously, don't know of many other (if any) 2017 2.7's with 230K on them. I meticulously maintain it and do have an excellent shop. I used to do all my own work but 2 bad shoulders put an end to it.
With the known exhaust head crack issue, the K-seal ceramic worked very well. This seems to be a different issue. I assume a turbo seal, EGR or an intercooler, if this truck has one.
The interior is excellent, as well as the body, x some road rash. Rear was just done and trany is working great.
I would do turbo if it can be singled out as the issue, heads are ridiculously expensive. I will check out Jasper, Fisher does not seem to be able to supply it.
Can you trust a yard motor? How can milage be verified? Hate to install a more problem filled engine.

I will need to start the search of yards. As a side, the k-seal was 75K ago, so it really doesn't seem to cause any adverse harm, as the old sticky sealants did.
It does not seal rubber though, that why I asked if there were any suggestions on diagnosing the issues. I can't find much on this type of issue, and the shop has not seen it (again 2017 with 230K).
My experience with dealers is less than positive but I am sure there are great Ford techs out there that have seen this.
