Far as the Veloosa scoops they just feed the much larger scoop formed by the hood and upper radiator shroud that further feeds into the scoop attached to the airbox. The COBB replacement upper radiator shroud eliminated the lower seal the factory shroud has. How well either works? I'd be curious about IAT2 temps (intake manifold sensor) and airflow (I monitor Turbo Exhaust Flow). KM

In regards to the COBB shroud, someone posted about it on one of the facebook groups and i asked (cant find the post) and they said that during testing, they saw a slight increase in performance (whatever that means) at extremely high airflow for a small time, but wasnt enough to advertise. I awlays assume, if a companydoesnt advertise a perf gain, there isnt one as most would advertise one even if the gains achieved werent done during equal testing (ex. 45 hp increase over stock intake)

I take any product power gain claim at face value which is none unless well backed up with repeatable figures. The COBB dress up shroud does not have the sealing ridges the OEM part has that seal to the hood. I will pass more air to the engine compartment, that may have no effect on airflow into the air box scoop.

OEM seal in white chalk.

$220 but I've spent more on less. I've also cut out the cross bars on the driverside. Not sure how you figure these are possibly going to restrict airflow when they're supposed to actually direct it up through there when normally there's nothing to do that
That companies web page shows 21 reviews of 5 stars, but goes to no reviews when clicked, the link to install on the f150 product page shows an install for a Ford Focus. Seems like a cobbled together company. But hey, it's your money.

They've been released for like a week, week and a half lol. So yeah, there's no reviews. They've openly posted on their pages that the install link was an error and it's being fixed. Not sure how any of that relates to some weird idea of restriction you mentioned earlier as you never explained that. Like I've said, I've spent more of my fun money to satisfy curiosity than these will take from me. The manifold in my signature is evidence of that lol.

Regardless, I'll datalog and see if there's any real data to be had on it

As many times as I've had the frontend apart, I never noticed that seal on the rad support area. So, I'm not sure you'd get any gain at all, in fact, you may get less pressurization of that area since it appears you're reducing the area available to pressurize that area. High school studyhall engineering?

Because they have taken the entire frontal open area of the grill and reduced the size to what, a 5x3 opening? Ram air with a stock airbox means absolutely nothing. Plus when the grille shutters are closed the mod is pointless.

If you do the mod, you remove the top 4 shutters. So only the bottom half would function

Yeah that Cobb piece seems completely aesthetic

That entire front area of the grill is 90 degrees horizontal to the rad cover openings and is going through the rad and not up whereas the scoop sits forward of that point closer to the grille opening and is directly channeling it up there. Put a bell mouth in front of the bumper and pipe it straight to the TB and it nets 2-3mph in the 1/4 and .1-.2 gain. Same theory these are based on but more direct. Yes with the shutters active and closed, in theory the high pressure area they create that is supposed to increase fuel mileage would greatly minimize the air being directed into the scoop but not entirely and it should still be more than would otherwise be without it. I also no longer have those so it’s moot
