I've been using the pro trailer backup assist lately and when the box comes up to select the trailer, I have my main one but then a "default" trailer appears. Selecting it doesn't seem to do anything though. Oddly when I go into trailer settings and select delete, the "default" one doesn't show up.

Does anybody know what that is or what it's for?

 

Default is what it defaults to if you don’t have a trailer selected or any other trailers set up.

 

But the backup assist wouldn't work then right? Cause you'd have to have all your measurements entered.

 

That I don’t know. I have a ‘15 and they didn’t offer pro until ‘16.

 

I haven't read the owners manual thoroughly for trailer setup since I don't tow anything yet.

But isn't the default trailer just a default trailer? As in maybe you only own one trailer. Not needed to enter a custom trailer when 'default' is fine.
Could be wrong since I didn't inspect the owners manual on the setup but seems logical.

 

yeah it won’t work, it gives you the “need measurements” prompt
