Default Weird No Start condition....

Hey - new guy - 2017 Raptor.
Drives just fine.

Once in a while if a stop, turn it off, then try to restart it within an hour - no start, no crank. Dash comes up, full power - no start - "Press Brake"
I have reset the PCM, pulled the battery cable. jumped it, ....etc nothing works in the moment.

If I let it sit for 2 hours - starts up first try just fine.

Normally drive it to work, leave it sit in the lot. drive home, sits in the drive, next morning - repeat - so I don't have the situation happen often - but filling up with gas at the pump, running into a store - always worries me that I 'may' not start....

Any suggestions?

I think maybe your info panel is telling you something "Dash comes up, full power - no start - "Press Brake"" Do you have an issue with the brake switch being intermittent?

Well - that's what I was thinking.... however - when it happens, I can stomp on the brake 1,000 times - no luck. Leave it sit for 2 hours - starts first shot.

doesn't seem like a switch - but wouldn't hurt.

Push button start or key ignition?

Also, try changing (or at least checking voltage, not sure what the numbers should be though) cam and crank positioning sensors.

Quicker - If you are experienced DIYer. See if starter solenoid is being powered when you try to start it.

IF YOU HAVE REMOTE START Another check (eliminates the brake switch requirement). When it does not want to start with button. Get out, lock your doors, hood down, try Remote Start.

When this happens - it does not remote start with the either the key fob or the phone app.

I would suspect the solenoid but not sure modern solenoids suffer the heat sink issues they used to.

I had the same issue with my 2017 XLT 3.5 Eco last year. Intermittent and wouldn’t start up after Autostop at lights a few times. Had power but turning the ignition did nothing. Battery tested fine, replaced it anyway, problem persisted. Ended up being the starter. No problems since replacement!
