While scoping out how difficult it might be to change out the water pump on my 2016 5.0, I noticed these two marking that look like someone wrote on the engine with a sharpie. They are just above and to the left of the water pump, anyone know what they might mean? I assume someone was in there before I bought the truck last year.

I would think that they are just some markings from the assembly line. Pretty sure my truck has some strewn around also.

Usually it’s a revision or an update on an existing engine. The inspector in “cold test” usually puts that mark on the engine.
