Weathertech vent shades
I just installed Weathertech vent shades on my 17 SCrew. Install was easy. I left my windows up for about 48hr before rolling the windows up/down. I have noticed that the front windows catch just a bit on the back edge. Any ideas on fixing this?

Old Fart
I pulled the guards out and using a dremel I ground the bottom inside edge of the guard to a taper. Now works flawlessy.

Mine didn't fit well at all; even after very gingerly making sure that they were seated as far out into the window channel as possible, the corners cracked off of them on the first window roll-up. After that, there was the catching problem that never went away. I abandoned the weathertechs after two attempts and went with the AVS low profile stick-ons.

This is a known issue. I tried 2 different sets on my 18 SCAB. They flat out suck. I love weather tech products, but the rain guards are garbage. I called weather tech and they know all about the problem. I returned them for a full refund and went with AVS instead. They look great.

I love my weather tech floor mats, but after my experience on my wife's car I would not purchase or recommend their window shades to anyone. Installed front and rear on her toyota sienna minivan. Brand new vehicle, everything was cleaned and installed properly. Within six months both the rear window shades had flown off into traffic while driving. After the first one went I checked the second, it was a little loose on one end but because of the way it installs (adhesive) there was no way to reattach. The front are more of a clip in, friction fit and should not have a problem. They should not sell the rear (for that vehicle anyway).
IMO they focused too much on "easy to install" and not enough on "will it last"

I wouldn’t go so far as to call them garbage; put the same in-track weathertechs on my wife’s 18 Colorado and they’re flawless. The F150s though? Weathertech needs to take a 2nd look and get them right, or throw in the towel.

Nah I would say they are garbage. Had them on my F150 and cracked and broke. In channel looks good but they don't last. Tried them in my wife's Edge also and they didn't last at all. AVS low profile are the way to go or the stock Ford ones.

It depends on what vehicle for the Weathertech vents. I had a set on my Avalanche for 14 years without issue. The F150 appears to have a window/seal design that is particularly difficult for in-channel vents. I had a set that quickly cracked and broke so if I replace them it will be with tape-on low profile units.

AVS makes a 3M stick on shade as well as a channel insert version. Anyone try their channel ones? I like the look better.
