Default Weathertech Mud Flap Question

Hi, new Ford owner and forum member here. I bought some weathertech mud flaps. I took them out to install and I think I may have ordered incorrectly. The instructions don't really match with what my truck looks like. Truck is a 2016 XLT Sport Screw. In hindsight I think I should have ordered the flaps for trucks with wheel lip moldings but I didn't. I didn't ever really notice any "fender flare" to speak of. But reading through the brochure it states that the sports appearance package does in fact have them. I thought mine were just "normal", the way they come. I didn't notice a difference on the chrome package I was also looking at before buying. So, I suppose a product return/exchange is in my future?
Does this sound about right to you guys with more experience with this?

YA you needed flaps w/wheel lip molding. I have a 2016 sport anmd ordered weathertek w/wlm. Fit perfect and easy install once you get the push pin out of the bottom of the molding. Hopefully you can return or sell on here

Ok, thanks. I got them from Amazon. I had a gift card to Amazon from my job. My wife is a prime member so I think returning will be free and easy. I bought some Husky wheel well liners that I was going to install as well. I put them in the bed of my truck to warm up in the sun while I installed the front flaps first...and thats as far as I got! I swear, even the simplest things often are a PIA. I like websites that ask as many fitment questions as possible. Like, for example, what trim package in this case. They could call it "fitment for dummies". LOL. Thanks again for your reply.

Since its my thread I can hijack it....How do you like your clear bra. What brand did you get, how long have you had it, and how is it doing (any tears or nicks yet)?

I made an appointment to have one installed next week. I'm getting Expel on whole front minus grill, partial hood and front of fenders, and door handle area. That and front window tint to match the back plus a strip on the top of the windshield. I'm paying $900 total that includes tax and install. The price was a bit of a shocker.

I did the same thing. When they said fender flares it wasn't what I was thinking of.
I knew when I saw the instructions and noticed the small molding on my fenders.
I ordered from Autoanything, called them up and sent the correct ones right then.

They even sent me a prepaid shipping label on email, not that's customer service! They did charge my credit card for the new ones but gave me credit as soon as they got the
other ones back.

Yep, live and learn! Amazons charging me $8 to return them. I've heard a lot of good reviews of Autoanything. But I had an amazon card from work that I got for reading 5 minutes worth of safety crap and answering 5 or six easy quiz questions....can't beat it!

Since you live fairly close, why not just go over to the WeatherTech store?

Well, I just googled it. Unless there are more than the one store I found, its a 4 hour drive one way for me. No thanks. Illinois is a long state. Thanks for the suggestion...

Only had the ppf for 2 weeks so can't comment on the truck but the wife's 2014 Camry has had one for a little over 2 years and no issues yet. A local installer here did my truck(Front bumper/head lights/fog lights/area around head lights/hood/grill surround/ front of fenders and door cups) and tinted 2 front windows to match back ones for $620.I also put an oem bug shield on over clear bra ( I hate rock chips so hopefully help the windshield a little.) I have done a lot of business w/him + is a good fried w/my 2 sons so gave me a good price I think, He only installs SunTek ppf and 3/m tint. I did a lot of research on both SunTek and Xpel and both are really rated high. The Sun Tek is a little easier to install but the Xpel has twice the warranty (5 years vs 10 years). I also read the the Suntek has better self healing qualities and is a little clearer. For the price I went with the Suntek since that is all he installs.. My installer said he has done a ton of vehicles for several years and has not had a warranty yet.
Good luck w/the liner install should be a breeze if you warm them up first. I had a set on my 2011 and loved them. Will be getting a set for my 16. Enjoy!

I installed the liners today and it was really easy. I've read mixed reviews on how hard it was but I had zero issues. Ya, $620 sounds like a hell of a deal. I've read on here of guys spending more than my quote and a few getting it for less. Like you, I am going with a guy who I became friends with from doing business in the past. He owns a place called Xclusive Audio and did a custom stereo install in my Corvette. He is a perfectionist and knows how picky I am. He also warranties all of his installations for the life of the vehicle. Finding someone you trust and does good work while respecting your vehicle is priceless these days. He's got a black Lariat in his shop now that he is doing a custom Ipad install on. I an going to check it out before the truck is delivered. I'm putting a little money aside each week to upgrade the sound system next year. I want to put components in the front and rear doors, an amp, processor, and a sub (or two). I have been watching some videos of Ipad installs for a couple of years and am interested in going that route as well.
