Default Water pump?

Hello all this may be a dumb question but I just got a 3.3l v6 4x4 f150 and is the water pump external and belt driven? Some people are saying it's toming chain driven and the rock auto parts say something about timing chain cover plate or something like that? Can someone help me out? I hope it's external and belt driven lol I

thought this engine was simple.

Breathe easier. The sideways engines got that mess. Not F150s.

i assume you mean 3.5 and I had the same scare but it's an external, belt driven pump on the f150. Might wanna throw a new OEM thermostat in there (Ford/Motorcraft, and I believe Stant and Reische are the ONLY properly designed bypass style thermostat).

I would also go under the truck and look up toward the thermostat housing and make sure non of those lines/connections are leaking since now would be the ideal time to replace any of that.

What year is your truck? 2018ish?

You have a regular water pump, there is another piece behind it that Ford calls a water pump but it's just a dummy pump with an idler or the timing chain on it.
