Just discovered an issue with water getting in the cab of my truck, pulled the driver’s carpet and had the wife spray water and found the leak. Looks like a body seam up under the dash, can I just silicone and go on my way? Warranty just ran out last week, I have 36,404 miles…figures.
Cut a bit of it away, get some body seam sealer and jam the nozzle in it and make sure some gets forced up in there, then cover it and let it fully cure.
Be sure to clean it off and make sure it's totally dry first. I'd clean it with brake parts cleaner, that's what I normally us. But any solvent/wax and grease remover is fine.

Thanks man, I plan to pick some up tomorrow and do that. Appreciate the reply.
Thanks, I saw that thread last night, but my leak is a little lower then the one he was experiencing. Also, I went ahead and pulled on that "tab" where the leak was coming from and it appears to be scrap piece of plastic that was covered with the seam sealer at the factory. I removed a lot of the seam sealer from that corner so that I was able to get to the raw metal panels and am letting it dry thoroughly today. I plan to liberally apply seam sealer to the joint this evening and let it cure...hoping that remedies my issue.
Leaking from that spot is pretty rare. Worth documenting, but not a common spot at all. OP's isn't common, either, but as we see "uncommon" things do happen sometimes.
Removed the factory sealant from the seams and applied 3M urethane Seam sealant liberally to reseal the gaps. Letting everything cure and will test in a couple days.
Had a water leak that wet carpet in mine too. Glad the leak was found/fixed. Think it is imperative to dry the carpet and pad to prevent mold. Spray wet pad & carpet top and bottom with a mold killer and use a small thermostatically controlled electric heater under the pad and under the carpet to dry.

If that was the leak, you got it, and that will hold up.
