Warning - Check your tires !
#21
Really sucks that this is happening. Hope they resolve this issue. I had a trailer tire 2 years old and 500 miles do the same thing. Luckily discount tire replaced it for free.
Unfortunately with all the electronics on our trucks we tend to not "look over our trucks/cars" unless there is a warming light. Not saying you never check your truck/car but many never do. Since I do a lot of driving my car on track I have learned to do a once over at the track a lot but even when I am not at the track, I look over the cars and truck at least once a month just for these reasons.

I have these tires. Been on my truck since end of 2014 when it was built. Best tires ive ever had and at 52K miles look great still and barely half worn.

Went and checked the tires on my ride.... also factory Goodyears, 21000 miles as of today, and saw this happening on two of them. Guess a trip to Goodyear is in tow for tomorrow

And I was b*tching I had Hankooks. Ha ha. Apparently they're better than the goodyears, right? And while we're in the subject, which is the best street A/T tire, as in the quietest, long-lasting, and lightest (if possible)? I'll probably never use my truck as a 4x4 on purpose. I bought a 4x4 mostly for safety and resale reasons, but not for off-roading. And also wanted the FX4 package due to its better shocks and protective shields. I fully understand regular A/S tires would look weird on an FX4 4x4, and since at highway speeds I can't hear the A/T tires, I'm willing to buy another set, as long as it's not noisier than the current Hankooks. Thanks.

That looks very extreme and not normal to me. Hairline cracks are one thing, but that definitely looks like a defect.
They must have had a bad batch of tires on the assembly line when they built your truck.

Please post the date codes on the tires. I checked mine and didn't see any issues, but this was only with the outward facing side.
