Angry Warning - Check your tires !

I've recently noticed that ALL of my tires are developing what appear to be deep vertical cracks on the side wall. If it was just one tire then i'd say it may be rare occurrence, however all four have the same problem.

The truck is a 2016 XLT FX4 and has just 13,000 miles with the Goodyear Wrangler tires. The cracks appear to be forming along the molding lines.

Is this happening to anyone else, is it likely to lead to tire failure?

Any comments or suggestions?

I'd go to a Goodyear dealer and show them, they will make it right. Been there done that.

^^ What he said, and I'd do so slowly and carefully. That's no bueno... especially in this lovely heat we're having!

I had Wranglers on our 15 and at trade-in they looked pretty darn good. In the photos, I was surprised at the "rounded edges" on your tires for just 13000 miles. I ran 36 psig "Cold checked" and rotated every 5000 miles. I would not be surprised if the Goodyear folks state the tire were under inflated and ran hot at some juncture. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Any set of goodyears is good for more than 13k miles. As long as you don't have very uneven wear, I think it will be hard for them to deny you a new set of tires.

The cracks are happening where the groove or casting line is and stop at that first rib. I would bet that Goodyear says that's the way they're made,

It may be how they are made, however I'm not sure they are they way they should be...

They'll most likely pro rate them. I'll be surprised if you get full value.

I would then make sure I reference the Firestone issue from back in the 90's and ask if they are trying to repeat it. Bet that will get them to change their minds.
