Default Waiting for your new truck to be delivered? Maybe it's here...

Just thought this was interesting. I live about an hour away from the Dearborn Assembly Plant, and about 3 weeks ago, I noticed an empty lot located next to a long abandoned Ford plant was filled with new F-150s. I pass this lot every day and all these trucks seemed to show up literally over night. They have been sitting for 3 weeks with no sign of leaving anytime soon. I'm sure these are just overflow or something, but I just thought it was strange how they seem in no hurry at all to get them delivered. There also are no active railroad tracks near this lot, so they must have been driven in or trucked in. I know pictures aren't great, but I felt like an idiot taking pictures of parked trucks, so I took them quickly so nobody saw.. lol

For March 2019, Ford produced somewhere in the vicinity of 71,537 F150s. That's an F150 every 37 seconds. It takes a lot of space to store all of those... and resources to transport them. I know they have issues getting trucks and trains from time to time... probably waiting for that.

Maybe another recall keeping them from being delivered.

Actually, I hit the lottery and couldn't make up my mind so I bought them all.
I should be there to pick them up in a week or so when my 300 car garage is finished.

It has more to do with floods out west and rail shipping backing up. I didn't take any pictures, but I live by the Toledo North Jeep plant. There is an open field by the Michigan border that used to have a mall that was torn down a few years ago. It's full of Jeeps, and not just the ones built in Toledo. There are a bunch of Grand Cherokees from Detroit. I've seen them store vehicles there before, but I've never seen this many.

This puts into perspective just how many trucks Ford produces in a short amount of time. The fact that they produce tens of thousands of these a month and get the majority of them near perfection is simply amazing to me. It's crazy what people can accomplish when we all work together.

You know April 1 was a week ago, right?
