It's not wings, it's big fans like on an Osprey jet. Get your facts straight!

And like they said, it can be turned off. But I don't even know it is there anymore honestly since it's pretty seamless.
Yes I am stupid about a lot of things , but I am capable of shutting off my engine when I want to. If I stop to open a gate, or wait for the garage door to open, or let a cow pass in front of me, or stop at the end of my drive, or stay stopped to warm up the vehicle, or just stop to look at a hawk swooping down on its prey...

I am not interested in adding a tuner, or putting it in tow haul mode, or pressing a temporary disable button every time I get in the vehicle to solve this. I would be grateful about stronger starter system that doesn't wear out quickly.

This sort of autopilot stuff where I have no choice always drives me nuts. Electronics always gets outdated, and often fails, so less is more in my book. Look at all the problems (threads) people are having with some of these latest electronic options. YMMV

I hope the 5.0 doesn't get cylinder deactivation. If it came down to buying a 5.0 with brand new to Ford cylinder deactivation or a 5.3 GM truck...I guess I'd go GM or get one of the EB engines.

He didnt mention anything about the 10-sp auto for 2017. Most of the "upgrades" are small issues that are being ironed out from the 2015/2016 MY run.
No offense, but if your buddy doesn't even know about the 10 speed trans (which has been confirmed), I would take anything he says with a grain I salt. Especially cylinder deactivation.

It's well geared and always in the right gear. I'm happy with that. I'm extremely excited. Can't wait to get mine. If any of this is doubted do your own Google search. You'll find it.

Yup the 17 is bringing in the compacted iron graphite block and same timing chain set up as the 2.7. Yes, well known.

As well as port and direct injection. Source?

10 speed transmission may or may not be coming in 2017.

I have a 2015 and I'm not pissed that I bought, I love my truck.

A 10 speed in 2017 will cause me to trade my 14 for a 16.

I disagree. There are engineering changes happening all the time. Thats part of the reason why we had two shutdown/retooling periods in the year. Things change and we're two years away from that.

I believe him, since I worked with him and worked in the auto industry for 10 years.

Damn. Guess I'd better hurry up and get one if I want a 5.0. I'd hate to buy a first year design displacement on demand 5.0. I wonder if they'll go with direct injection while they're at it, if they do go with cyl deactivation...

There are many sites that have this same info but I am taking a little license stating its coming to the 150 for 2017. Likely at some point.

http://www.roadandtrack.com/car-show...ceits-all-new/

I first found it on a gm site that is escaping me. Searching on my phone is not the easiest.

However, if you find that one it's a full tear Down of the new 3.5 I'm not sure why a gm site is the only one posting it. I'm sure it was a ford event. But yup. I'm pumped.
